Had cataract surgery seven weeks ago. I used to have one eye with near signtedness and the other with intermediate. My brain interpreted, and I used spectacles only for road driving or movie/theatre going. These glasses did not prevent my seeing at closer ranges (for example the dashboard). Now the ex-intermediate eye, the one operated, doesn't see correctly at ANY distance except precisely 1 foot. It doesn't hurt, but feels bloated, with floaters and a side bar. And I'm desperate, not being able to see my cat's face or my bookshelves. I amm feeling so desperate that my older thoughts of suicide have come back again. Only, this time, by stabbing through my destroyed eye...

I suspect my own is caused by excessive fapping am just 24

Hi I resently had my right eye cataract removed by laser and a basic lens replaced. Before the surgery the surgeon talked me into the basic lense said it would work great for me. I expressed I don’t want o ware glasses or readers Post surgery I feel like I lost close range and am not happy. Even though the surgeon recommended this lens for me he will not refund the money we since talked about a lens exchange bu now he expects me to pay for both lenses which I think is not fare. Any help with this issue woul be appreciated thank you?

I did prk and have zero regrets im on day 7 of recovery and already my vision is far better than before without glasses very excited to feel 2p/20 soon hopefully.

Hi ! I was recently prescribed out base prisms. Are scleral lenses able to have prims in them or do you know of an alternative for me bc I would love to have contacts without having double vision?? Thanks in advance!!

I'm in my 30s. I got cataract surgery 20 days ago. Doctor advised to go for enhance toric lens without knowing medical terms I agreed n surgery done in one eye. My profession is teaching.but now my near vision is not clear. What I can do now.. please suggest mam. Whether I can go for resurgery for changing trifocal lens ?

Don't do LAL monovision

When I found out cataract surgery lenses were permanent I decided to get basic uncorrective lenses and do my vision correction with eye glasses just like I've done all my life. I'm pleased with my results. I do have dry eyes now which are easily helped by preservative free OTC eye drops. I was legally blind before the surgery and can now see again. A true miracle for me.

Hi Dr Lee; I have no Cataract as I had no cataract Symptoms; Cannot read Road signs in day light??? Myopia L:-8diops; R; -8 diops as well. Please help explain what wrong? Presently wearing soft contacts for 45 plus years Great; my close vision like reading is perfect; no headaches, no blrurries etc.. I have been trying to find out what wrong!! What happens when the surgeon, accidentally makes a cut in your vitreous and leaves you with floaters , black curtain across your eye for 19 months,And you have black halo for the same period of time.Tearing of eyes, blurred vision.

Just a note for pilots or people considering becoming a pilot, you will not be able to pass your FAA Physical if you have distant correction in one eye and near correction in the other eye. It affects your depth perception.

I MUST SAY I need up close vision for fine details at work and did not know I would LOSE it after he put in lenses that restored my far away sight. Someone really needs to think and talk to their Ophthalmologist before surgery about it, I would not have minded wearing glasses to see at a distance versus struggling at work trying to use magnifying glasses and such! Believe me when you can't see up close that matters too!

HEADS UP: Our ancient ancestors did not have nor wear sunglasses. Cataracts in such a large number of people is a more recent occurrence. This is not to suggest that you should stare at the sun, only that it's wrong to say that sunlight causes cataracts. If that were true, ancient man would have had a huge problem with cataracts as they did not have sunglasses... which were invented much later. While it is true that UV rays are not good for the eyes, our ancestors did not stare at the sun. However, they did get a healthy dose of sunlight, which was not only good for vitamin D intake but good for vision as well. Diet, as with anything else, plays a huge part in determining whether or not you will develop cataracts and to what degree. Glycation is caused by sugar/sweet foods, among other this. Our ancient ancestor did not have sugar and very few sweets in the diet. If you continue to eat sweet foods, you have only yourself to blame for glycation in your body... which not only promotes cataracts but many other diseases.

Honestly if u can't see at all out of a eye,and can get some vision back.. it would be way better than no vision coming back u deal with everyday..blindness and get better clarity its a win win no matter what some issues u still have stigmatized issues with .

My right eye cataract surgery was done with local anesthesia, and l felt no pain. However, my left eye was done differently w which l couldn't understand why.. I felt pain, l could feel what the surgeon was doing, like putting on eye lid opener which caused me some pain. At some point,he asked me to turn my eyes to the left, right, up, down several times. I was so stupid didn't ask him at that time why the two surgical procedures for right and left eyes were different..l regret so much now. Type of my cataract surgery is phacoemulsification.

Hi Dr. Lee, are you familiar with the Juvene lenses? I know they have been used in a number of trials and give good vision at all ranges. Are they available to everyone yet? Could you do a video on them?

Happy with the operation, but why the doctor charged me $2500.00 for the lens which is $950.00? Are you all crooks?

Hi Dr. I had extreme tragedy in my life'. Got Stress, Anxiety, insomnia and depression... Eye's became Blurry.... what should I do? Will they return to normal?... 😟

I have the worst dry eyes right now. its really sucks! i hope this will help me later today when i mustard up the courage to put eye drops in. for now im just using a wet towel on my face for at least some form of relief but i cannot do that forever

This was helpful I'm seeing floaters when I go out in the sun. Or when I am in a place where a light is brighter. I haven't seen any bright lights through my eyes. Mine come & go off & on.
